Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the pads made of?

The topper is made of either 100% Cotton, Polycotton, Cotton Jersey or Flannel. This part goes against your skin. The core is a combination of either flannelette, Zorb or both depending on the absorbency you choose. The backing is 100% Polyester Polar Fleece and acts as a water-resistant barrier.

  • How many pads will I need?

On average you will need 10-12 pads if you wash every other day depending on how long or heavy your periods are.

  • Which pad is the right pad for me?

Depending on your period will depend on which pad you need. Liner is for everyday use and is our least absorbent pad. Regular for those with an average flow. Heavy for those with a more than average flow and Night is our most absorbent pad to use during the night or for those who have very high flow. From one woman to another I use a Liner for the spotting either side of my cycle. I have a couple of Heavy days and changing to Regular when it starts to slow and of course a Night pad for during the night.

  • What Length is best for me?

We have several lengths to choose from because everyone is different. If you are moving from disposable to washable measure a pad you normally buy and select the same length when purchasing a washable pad. If you are just starting out on your period journey, we suggest getting a shorter pad.

  • How often should I change them?

On average every 4-6 hours dependant on your flow.

  • Can I use them overnight?

Yes! Our Night pad with its highest absorbency can be worn during the night and you can select a length that suits you.

  • My flow is very heavy, can I use washable pads?

Yes! Our Night pad has our highest absorbency which can be used any part of the day or night and you can choose the length that suits you. If you need something more bespoke, please send me an email and we can discuss options to suit you.

  • Can they be used for incontinence?

Absolutely! Our pads can be used for light incontinence. You can choose a Liner for everyday little leaks or something with a greater absorbency for your needs. As a mum of 4, I know that even a sneeze can cause a little slip and a short liner is perfect for this.

  • Are they comfortable?

Yes! We use a fleece backing for a water-resistant barrier which is both soft and breathable. The cotton topper which goes against your skin is soft and light. This combination feels much cooler than a disposable pad.

  • Do I need to wash them before I use them?

Yes. You can either use a prewash function your washing machine or put it in with your normal laundry but avoid using fabric conditioner as this can reduce the absorbency.

  • How do I wash my pads?

Before your first use please prewash your pad at no more than 40°C. Once you have used your pad either wash it straight away to avoid stains, however, it can be soaked in cold water (not hot as this will increase stains) until you are ready to wash them. Wash them at no more than 40°C as any hotter could cause staining. Do not tumble dry.

  • Can I wash them with other things?

Yes! Whites with whites, colours with colours, but avoid using fabric conditioner as this can reduce the absorbency

  • How do I store them – home and away?

At home - To avoid stains we suggest soaking your pad in cold water until it can be washed. Away - Our pads have wings with snaps so they can be folded in on themselves and snapped together to keep them tight and slip in your purse, wet bag or even a zip food bag. Soak once home to avoid stains.

  • Will they stain?

To avoid staining soak your pad in cold water and wash within 48 hours.

  • Can I tumble dry a Sanitary Pad?

No. This can affect the shape and the absorbency.

  • Will they leak?

The pads are made to be very absorbent but, just like disposable pads, you need to change them before they become totally saturated. After wearing reusable pads for just a short while, you will have a good idea of how often you need to change them. It will depend on the pad you are wearing and your flow.

  • Can I use pads whilst swimming?

Unfortunately, no. Just like disposable pads they will soak up water making them ineffective for period protection.

  • Can I return them if I don’t like them?

For hygiene reasons we can only accept returns of unwashed and unused products.

  • Are payments secure?

Yes. We use Paypal for all credit and debit card transactions. Our site is served over a secure connection and we use Cloudflare to protect our online services. Our systems use industry standard processes to ensure we use the most up to date technology to protect our customers data.
